Courier Fellows rebel against job insecurity
Fellows of El Correo de Andalucía have given this text to the editor in protest at what they consider a path to the precariousness of the profession of journalism:
"Comrades,
Due to recent problems that are occurring in the company for seven dismissal of colleagues, fellows of El Correo de Andalucía we thought it meet to discuss the situation and adopt common measures.
First, to record the feeling of helplessness at the situation they are living out their colleagues about this situation, which seems unfair and we realize that your present will, someday, our future.
Second, we extend our support to both colleagues who have left as you are now taking the paper, in addition to wish luck to all the difficulties that this profession holds today.
According to the agreement established practices University of Seville among the fellows of the faculty of business and enterprise, it provides the right to strike for trainees, because there is no contractual relationship with the company. Still, our decision is not in the job during the day to be determined, in support of the dismissed journalists.
Moreover, we would like our texts are not used to fill the daily newspaper that the committee convene strike. "
Some of the fellows have already announced that they waive their practices after seeing the string of job losses that occurred April 26 in The Courier.
